The verdict

In January 2025 Activepieces Cloud was already usage-priced on a task meter: Free carried "1,000 tasks per month" with "$1 per 1,000 extra tasks", Ultimate started "from $1,200 per month" on the same rate, and the FAQ said "we charge $1 per 1,000 tasks on all plans" (Wayback 2025-02-03; identical 2024-12-17 and 2025-03-04). Between the 2025-06-14 and 2025-07-10 captures the task meter was switched off — "Stop counting, it's unlimited": Plus at $25/mo and Business at $150/mo offered "Unlimited tasks" under fair usage, with AI metered as "500 AI credits & buy more". Between 2025-10-06 and 2025-11-22 the page became "Unlimited runs" at "$5 per active flow per month" with 10 free active flows and no visible credit meter, still shown on 2026-07-12. Between 2026-07-12 and 2026-08-13 Activepieces re-metered on credits — Plus "$16 per month, billed yearly" with "Pay as you go beyond that", Team $166 — and release 0.87.0 (2026-08-06) made running out of credits stop production runs. Release 0.92.0 (2026-09-24) changed AI burn from a fixed per-model table to the provider's reported dollar cost. At the 2026-10-10 capture Plus is $20/mo for 10,000 credits and Team $200/mo for 50,000, both billing $0.007 per extra credit by default.

What changed

  • Sep 24, 2026 · Credit burn-rate repricing · Activepieces release 0.92.0 stopped charging AI steps a fixed number of credits per model (the pricing page's table: fast model 2, smart 10, frontier 20) and began billing each managed AI call on the dollar cost the provider reports, converted at $0.0005 of model spend per credit by default — so a long call now costs more credits than a short one. The pricing page still showed the per-model table on 9 October. (archive)

Where it's headed

The direction since August 2026 is toward a dollar-denominated meter: AI steps already bill at provider cost, and the pricing page's stale 2/10/20 credit table is the obvious next thing to be rewritten. Expect the public rate card to catch up with the 0.92.0 billing, not a change of rung.
