Held one rung all window — pattern: Credit burn-rate reprice.
The short version The sticker barely moved — but the meter did. The same work costs more than it used to.
The verdict
Chatbase was already a hard-allotment credit product in January 2025. The pricing page archived on 15 January 2025 listed Free at $0 with 20 message credits a month, Hobby at $19 for 2,000, Standard at $99 for 10,000 and an "Unlimited" plan at $399 for 40,000 credits, with messages over that limit routed to the customer's own OpenAI API key; the escape valve was an auto-recharge add-on at $9 per 1,000 credits that "do not expire". Between the 17 and 28 January 2025 captures the sticker rose: Hobby $40 for 2,000 credits, Standard $150 for 12,000, the top plan renamed Pro at $500 for 40,000, auto-recharge $14 per 1,000. Those figures held through 14 December 2025 (Free cut from 100 to 50 credits by then). Between that capture and 3 April 2026 the meter was repriced without touching the sticker: Hobby fell to 500 credits, Standard to 4,000, Pro to 15,000, and auto-recharge rose to $40 per 1,000. By 4 September 2026 Hobby had been nudged back to 700 credits. The 10 October 2026 capture shows that state: $40 / $150 / $500 for 700 / 4,000 / 15,000 credits, hard stop at exhaustion unless auto-recharge is on.
