The verdict

In January 2025 eesel AI sold fixed monthly plans with a hard interaction cap: Starter $49 a month for up to 500 AI interactions, Team $299 for 1,000, Business $799 for 3,000, and a Custom tier with "Unlimited AI interactions" (19 January 2025 capture; yearly 20% less). The exhaustion FAQ: "the AI will stop functioning as expected until you purchase additional interaction credits or upgrade your plan" — the top-up price was not published. That structure (Starter gone by June 2025) held through the 6 March 2026 capture. Between then and 29 April 2026 — the vendor changelog says April 2026 — eesel replaced the plans with per-task pay-as-you-go: $0.40 per support ticket or chat session, $4.00 per blog post, $50 of free usage, "No platform fee. No per-seat fees. No monthly minimum.", a default $250 cap. Between 20 September and 3 October 2026 it pulled the priced unit back to fixed monthly credit batches: Teammate from $299 for 500 credits (one per ticket or chat) in steps to 5,000 ($1,899 on 3 October, $1,749 by 9 October), agents pausing at exhaustion unless opt-in overage at $0.80 per credit is on — the 9 October 2026 state.

What changed

  • Oct 3, 2026 · Meter adopted · eesel AI replaced per-task pay-as-you-go pricing ($0.40 per support ticket or chat, $4.00 per blog post, $50 of free usage) with fixed monthly credit plans: $299 for 500 credits in steps up to 5,000 ($1,899 a month at the 3 October capture, $1,749 by 9 October), one credit per ticket or chat, extra credits $0.80 each. The switch landed between the 20 September and 3 October 2026 captures; eesel's docs still described the old model on 9 October. (archive)

Where it's headed

Having gone all the way to per-task billing and back inside six months, eesel is unlikely to remove the subscription floor again; the more probable adjustments are to the $0.80 overage rate and to the batch ladder, and to retiring the docs page that still describes the pay-as-you-go model.
